How Typography Impacts Design

0

My last post was over a week ago, the days are running by so fast! Or is it just me. Today I want to share a few tips about how typography can impact your design. When I design I try no to use more than 3 typefaces/font but I can seem boring so here’s what I do to give the design some ‘texture’ – I use 1 or 2 typefaces but use different colours and sizes. In the image below I used 1 typeface, different sizes and 2 colours, see how you can make 1 typeface appear differently?

Here’s another, I uses 4 different typefaces and 3 colours, to me it doesn’t look like one ‘art piece’ It may work for some designs but… you give it a try

With this option, I used 1 typeface and 3 colours, it seems to work better than the previous

Bottom line is to keep the elements of your design simple, but not lazy. Try different fonts and colours and see which works best. For fonts I usually prefer bold, closely combined fonts
